The 'fermata' line was one of my favorites, too--in light of House's musical prowess, it seemed only right to have some musical references in there.
I have no idea how I got those rhymes, although I have a strong suspicion all the recreational medical research I've done had something to to with it. I wanted to satirize the progression of an S1-3 DDX a bit: Foreman and Cameron fail to get the right answer because they're confined by their specialties; Chase gets it by thinking outside the box; House approves, but of course Chase doesn't get to know that.
Exactly. I thought it would be a good idea to have an auxiliary piece showing that the aunts' behavior toward Chase is informed by the grief of their sister's loss. (I also have a sonnet series featuring the aunts and cousins a few entries down.)
