So I finally got around to reading this. You know I love it, right? Your easy flowing writing style is so enjoyable. Because of the show's time difference over here in the U.K, was this written before the season premier, or after the first episode? If before, wow! The whole bruise on the cheek and solitary moment was pretty prophetic to say the least. I know you write Chase well and you don't need me to tell you over and over, but between you and me... "Chase isn’t sure what he believes anymore, but he says “Thank you, God”"--- tut-tut! *wink* ;) I have to say, of all the House Fics I've read, (and I've trawled some, believe me!) you write Wilson to the nth degree. I can hear his phrasing and even see the look in his eyes as he speaks. Bravo!
I love that Chase's umbilical cord isn't quite ready to be cut and with that, his need to still be attached to the only 'family' he now has left, was both touching and rewarding. As an avid watcher of the show. It seems fitting that Chase would move heaven and earth to care for House. As we've discussed, Chase is THE most caring of all of House's ducklings (under his unending layers) I also have to give a big shout out to your proper use of the Anglo/Australian parlance. Chase does say 'Arse' and not 'ass' (as I've read in so many other fics.) He would also say 'flat' instead of apartment. In-fact, you have him (as usual) so spot on, his accent fairly drips of the screen. Well done on your diligent research. All those (oft) forgotten patients. You even sneaked in a few I'd forgotten about- so kudos for that! I'm happy that Chase's letter to Alison wasn't angst ridden. I came to the conclusion after 'Lock Down' that they did truly part as friends. House's retorts were, as ever, true to character and not over the top. House is capable of not being an 'arse' all the time and does show genuine sincerity when called for. And his 'not thank you' was perfect. I wouldn't of had it any other way. :) So what's with the whole 'Fellowship vs Attending eh? It's a question that's never actually be addressed in the show and it should.(imo) The prison meet up was handled well. You certainly must have done your research on the ins-and-outs of how to visit a prisoner. I like the undertone of menace in the whole rigmarole. I wonder how Chase felt about entering the prison? Afterall, he could very well of ended up there himself if he'd been caught over the Dibala debacle.
So, in closing and before scooting off to read the Dæmonverse AAU fic's I'd just like to add one more thing. "Sydney Adventist Hospital’s page proclaims its mission “Christianity in Action!” and he clicks back to his search results immediately," I laughed out loud and nearly woke hubs! Great Fic, thanks. :))
